Today was a special day!
First it's my father's birthday and the girl's actually said "Happy Birthday Poppi" to him on the phone this morning. It was really cute. Dad I hope you had a wonderful birthday. Wish we could have spent the day with you today, you would have loved the air show! We miss you and Love you tons!
Next, we headed off to the the see the Blue Angels air show. Tony was so excited to bring the girls to the air show. Since Tony's dad was a Blue Angel, this was a way for Tony to share with the girls a little piece of their Grandpa Mezzadri's life. I absolutely love air shows. My dad used to take me when I was a kid, so it brings back found memories and Top Gun is hands down my favorite movie. It amazes me what those pilots can do with those planes. The girls enjoyed the show too! Ellie kept pointing and saying "papa's plane" when we pointed out that the #4 slot plane was Grandpa's plane. I wonder if she would have called Tony's dad Papa?
Ellie spent the majority of the day on her daddy's lap. Lola stayed very close to mommy the whole time. She knew I would cover her ears when the planes got loud.
(aren't those earplugs cute?)
Emma and Ellie
I think "Fat Albert" was the girl's favorite only because it was not nearly as loud as the diamond.
Lola Grace... look at that face... those planes were making her smile... or was it the churro that daddy bought her?
"Angles" Ellie would say as she point up at the sky.
As we left the show and headed out of the gate (a bit early since it was so hot and the girls we so tired) a plane had split away from the diamond and flew right above our heads and did a turn, we all looked up and saw it was #4, it gave us chills and just confirmed to us that Frank was there with us and very happy that we brought his little granddaughters to see the show.
