Lourdes 2010

We spent a week in Lourdes, France with the HCPT charity which takes children with illness/disabilities away for a holiday.

Lourdes is an interesting place, with strong religious links, see here for the background and information on St Bernadette. There are some beautiful historical areas and quite wonderful countryside and mountains. In amongst this are numerous, somewhat tacky, souvenir shops (if you're looking for a nodding Jesus or a glow-in-dark Virgin Mary, this is the place !).

The week is filled with laughter, singing (good or bad), friendship and games. The children we took had a great time and were sad to leave.

Little T and Little O (as well as myself and Mrs K/C/KC) had a wonderful time and look forward to meeting up with everyone again soon.

All of this is possible through charitable fund raising (eg our recent quiz night).

If you'd like to support our charity and trips with these children (we belong to Group 2 - the best one, of course) then please click here or the link to JustGiving on the right hand side of the screen. We are doing a sponsored event later this year (3 peaks challenge) to raise money to take children next year.
