Letters to my girls

My Dear Lola,
I never knew how much I would fall in love with you! I love the way “mama” is one of your first and only words thus far. I love how you love to sleep, just like me. I love the way your face lights up and your three huge dimples show when you smile. I love the way you great me with a sprint and a huge hug every time I pick you up from day care. I love the way you dance in your car seat and to any blurb of music you hear. I love how you will never leave the house without at least one additional accessory- sunglasses, purse, bracelet or a hat. I love how you tackle your sister and make her laugh. I love your deep belly laugh, your big brown eyes that melt my heart, and I love how you have your daddy’s chin, it’s so cute on you. I love that you don’t wake up when I sneak middle of the night cuddles. I love to watch the way you get excited in any body of water, even a puddle on the ground. You are a true water baby! I love the way you enjoy playing by yourself and how you crawl up on daddy and try to drive his chair. Most of all Lola, I love that God chose you to be my daughter. What did I do to deserve such a blessing? This mother’s day I thank you Lola Grace for making me a mom and for giving me so much joy and so much to look forward to!

With Unconditional Love,
Your mom

My Sweet Ellie,
Oh, how our family would not be complete without you! Your spirit is so bright, funny, and loving. Your thin sweet smile is so contagious. How is it possible that a human heart can hold as much love as I have for you? I love the way you say HI when I come in to wake you up every morning and the way you hold your head to the right and say HI in the cutest voice when you have just been told NO. I love the in-depth curiosity you show for all of the new things you experience. I love how you use your little pointer finger to point at everything around you. I love how you are a social butterfly and never want to miss out on anything even if it does mean that you get so tired you end up falling asleep in your high chair. I love how determined and persistent you are as well as the cute frustration you show when it doesn’t go your way. I love how in the middle of playtime you will stop and run up to me and give me a tight hug. I love how you bring me a book, turn around, back up your bottom, and sit on my lap so I can read to you. I love how you refer to both of your parents as daddy most of the time. I love how one of your favorite pass times is to walk around in my shoes and that your favorite seat in the house is on your daddy’s feet. And I love that you will still let me rock you to sleep any night of the week. Thank you Ellie for your beautiful spirit and for always bringing a smile to my face. God undeservedly blessed me beyond belief when he chose you to be my daughter. This Mother’s day I thank you Ellie for giving us all so much to look to forward to!

With Unconditional Love,
Your mom
