Seashells and Sand Dollars

Today was Abe Lincoln's birthday, so of course I got the day off work! It was a PERFECT day to have free, the sun was out and you could almost feel summer in the air. We took advantage of the perfect San Diego weather (sunny and 70, as my big bro would say) and headed out to North Island on Cornando, to hunt for Seashells and San Dollars with Emma. It was so fun!
Lola living it up and jumping right in!

Ellie was a bit timid when it came to hunting for shells near the water. She is no fool...even though it was 70 degrees, the water temp was in the 50s.

FOUND ONE!!!
and ANOTHER!!

Our loot!
I have never actually found a Sand Dollar and today, us girls, we found six sand dollars and of course some other pretty shells too!

Not only were there many shells to find, there were many, many planes to see too! The landing strip was right behind where we were and the girls love watching the Navy planes come in for a landing.

That's Hotel Del Coronado in the background, so pretty!
and this.... this is beautiful...did I mention I love San Diego !
