A woman in our church has written a play called "The Christmas Tree Ship", based on a true story from the early part of the last century. She asked Katherine to be in it and Kate agreed. The play tells a sad, but sweet, story. A shipping captain in Michigan cuts evergreen trees every winter and takes them to Chicago to sell (and give to the poor). One year he and his ship are lost in a terrible storm and never return. To deal with their grief, his widow and three daughters decide to continue the Christmas tree service and arrange for the cutting of the trees. They take them to Chicago by train and sell the trees in memory of the captain. Katherine plays one of the captain's twin daughters. She is in a number of scenes and has a few lines. She and her good friend Hannah are having fun being "twins". Here are a few pictures from dress rehearsal.
