You can tell that summer is fast approaching by how fun filled our free days have become! The past two weeks we have taken advantage of the absent "May Gray" weather and have been making new fun memories with our friends and family!
Birthday party at the beach!
First, we helped my friend from work celebrate his birthday at South Carlsbad State Beach. We spent the day eating good food, playing in the dirt, jumping over waves, and simply hanging out. Happy Birthday Vinny, thanks for the fun day!
Meghan helped me keep a hand on two eager little girls down at the beach. (My camera was on a wrong setting, hence the over exposed pics) Tony enjoyed talking about the surf with his little girls.
More overexposed pictures of the gang.
Uncle Marks Birthday!
Mid-week we helped Uncle Mark celebrate his 35th birthday at a great sushi restaurant. The girls tried Sushi for the firs time, hopefully they will love it just as much as their parents.
Ellie, Lola, Aiden, Mark, and Liam
LEGO LAND!
My friend Lindsay and her family we so sweet to share some of their guest tickets to Lego Land with us this past weekend. We had such a good time. Declan, Lola, and Ellie are now tall enough to ride some of the big kid rides. I will tell you my girls are thrill seekers, they loved every minutes of the big rides! (pictures to come). All four of the kiddos Lexi included, loved playing in the huge Jungle Gym. We honestly lost each kid like three times. Ellie was by far the fastest on her feet, she would disappear in a matter of seconds. Here are some fun shots form inside the Jungle Gym.
Mini-Town was so cool. Mini replicas of US cities were built out of Legos, the kids loved watching the moving cars and studying the buildings.
The New York Skyline was complete with the new Freedom Tower and Twin Tower memorial.
Our little girls loved driving these cars. They were pretty good at it too, though Lola really took control and got the hang of it pretty quick.
There is not a better way to end a fun day at Lego Land than running through the splash park and getting all wet!
Thanks Herkerts for a fun day!
A play date at the park with Bailey was up next !
Look at these ladies, they were determined to find treasures in the sand.
Ellie at the park- she is a master at the balance beam!
We finished up the park date with some dinner and of course some desert!
We managed to fit in a Family Night on this same weekend. Whenever we mention the word family night to the girls, they automatically think slumber party. Well they talked us into it; after watching a movie, playing some games, popping some popcorn, and jumping around, we did let the girls sleep out in the livingroom and have their little slumber party (though mommy snuck off into to her own bed after the three of them fell asleep).

The Zoo had been calling my name, so after work one day last week the girls and I headed the zoo for a late afternoon walk and ended up spending three house there just having fun and taking it all in. The visit was so impromptu, I didn't even bring my camera- smart phones are great sometimes.
Tony, the girls, and I ended up soaking up the sun and the relaxing atmosphere at the Ocean Beach farmers' market last week. It was so nice we just walked the street, bumped into some old friends, and ended up sharing dinner and the best watermelon juice I have ever had, at a sidewalk table of the famous Ortega's restaurant on Newport Ave.
And last but definitely not least, I got to sneak in a much needed date with the hubby. We enjoyed dinner together the other night at Bombay in Hillcrest! Highly recommended if you like Indian food.
The summer bug has set in and if these past two weeks are any indication of how our summer days will be spent, June 13th (my last day of work) can't come soon enough!
Cheers to the great summer ahead!
