Sunday Evening in the Country

Our friends Larry and Linda have served as "den mothers" to the young adult group at our church.  (Actually, the adults aren't all that young - it's really more of a young family group.)  Tonight they invited us all out to their house in the country for a cook out.  The weather was gorgeous and we all had a wonderful time!
There were hayrack rides.

And foot races (well, sort of).

Larry led tours of the water garden.

And Rachel picked flowers from Linda's wildflower bed.

We visited the neighbor's chickens.

And Larry showed off his chicken toy.

We built a (very small) fire and made s'mores.

Best of all, Larry let the kids "drive" the tractor!

Rachel could not believe that I let her drive!

The adults chatted, the kids ran wild, and everyone ate until they were stiffed.  It was a perfect evening...
