2nd annual Mezzadri Coronado trip

We capped off our summer with a trip to Coronado beach for the weekend. We stayed at the newly remodeled Navy Lodge with Tony's family. Emma, Uncle Drew, Auntie Sara, and the four of us had a fantastic time hanging on the beach, swimming, playing in the grass, and relaxing
***
The new rooms were a nice surprise, this was our view from the balcony of our room,
the never ending beach shadowed by the silhouette of Point Loma.

We also had a view of the pool and playground- much to the kid liking!

This was the view from our bed, we haven't enjoyed a beach view from our bed since our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.
Poolside fun... nothing like dunking your Uncle under water.

Evenings at the beach are priceless!
There is something about the lighting and the atmesphere that brings out the best in you!

...these birds don't stand a chance...

The pool closed at five each day which meant the huge grass courtyard was open for KIDtastic fun!

Lola is anxiously awaiting another day of fun at the beach!
The girls were occupied with the task of picking up all the shells in their path.
We came home with a lot of shells but only a total of three sand dollars this time around.

Ellie also took it upon herself to save our beach snacks from the forever hungry seagulls.
So I haven't boogie boarded since the girls were in my belly...man have I missed it! Drew and I headed out to catch some waves and had a blast. Sarah joined us too, she had never boogie boarded before and she did great!

Vacation is definitely good for more than having fun, it's great for nap taking too!
I got to snag a few minutes of shut eye while these beauties were sleeping too!

Celia, a family friend who lives on Coronado, joined us the last evening for dinner!
BBQ tri-tip on a beach grill- nothing like it!

Before we headed on home we had to take advantage of the lift they had poolside. Tony's opportunities to swim are far and few between, so when the opportunity presents itself it's hard to pass it up. The girls didn't know what to think about their daddy swimming but Ellie was really excited  and jumped right in practically dunking Tony all together.
Lola loving on her DD!

It was a great trip, full of great memories and we can't wait to do it again next year!
