Mums the Word

When we first moved to this house, I bought a purple mum and planted it in the flower bed under the maple tree in the front yard.  Let's just say it has been VERY happy there!  That one purple mum now fills almost the entire bed!

My mum has become rather unruly and I probably should prune it back, but I like it's gigantic sprawl.

Every year I take a picture of the girls in front of my giant mum.  Tonight was the official Mum Picture Time.

I got one nice shot, but most of the photo shoot turned into silliness.

I suppose if you're a kid wearing a fabulous spider print Halloween dress and sitting in front of an inappropriately sized plant while your mom begs you to smile for the camera, then it's just time to be goofy!
